Family and friends have recently gathered for graduations to celebrate the accomplishments of young people. But what about orphan children? Are they doomed to poverty, or can they rise to become educated citizens of this world and of Heaven?

Through people like you, orphan children can thrive beyond their circumstances. International Children’s Care is an Adventist orphan-care ministry designed to support people like you in fulfilling “pure and undefiled religion.”  Whether or not you’ve heard about International Children’s Care (ICC), will you take a few minutes to learn about how people like you are working together to help orphan children to thrive?

Through caring donors–who regard each child with tender love–ICC builds, funds, and manages family homes for over 400 children, giving children full-time residential care. Because it is not possible for these children to live with their birth parents, they are clothed, fed, educated, encouraged, discipled, and launched into adulthood in a wholesome home environment through the support of many generous donors around the world. Since 1978, ICC has worked closely with the Adventist church as one of it’s orphan-care supporting ministries.

Will you join together in helping rescued children complete their education? In the DR Congo, where ICC has a children’s village, Michelline and Aline were given refuge as their families were ravaged by warfare. Their parents were either killed as part of the civil unrest in the DR Congo or were forced to join the army and were never heard from again. When these girls became a part of the ICC family, they very much needed a loving family to provide for them – including food, clothing, medical attention, education, and loving care. Part of that loving care included sponsors who not only provided financial support, but also fostered a positive sense of well-being. Within the Patmos Children’s Village, the girls grew, and developed and thrived. And now, many years later, they achieved something very special – a university degree. Recently, as part of the final requirements, Micheline and Aline had to sit and defend their research papers. You would have been so proud of them. And in this culture, it is incredible for young ladies to realize this achievement! People like you helped make this possible! Today, two of “our daughters” completed their professional training, and they are ready to integrate into normal life.

Right now, over 70 children are still needing support from people like you to continue and finish their education. These children have lived in Christian homes, have worshiped in nurturing churches, and have studied in adaptive schools. Now they are enrolled in university studies or vocational training programs. This finishing touch is just as essential as their “growing up years.” It is a preparatory and transitional time for them. But as you well know, there are often higher costs associated with this. If donors did not provide this finishing touch for them, how would these young adults make it? Please, as you read this, won’t you consider giving a gift on behalf of the older children who are preparing to live independently? Orphans, abandoned, and broken children who God brought to International Children’s Care need your help. Please visit https://InternationalChildrensCare.org to donate today.
