You may have seen the sad story about a Connecticut woman who escaped a Christmas morning house fire that killed all her three children and also both her parents. In the comments section on www.msnbc.com, I found it pitiful to see a fervent believer’s insensitive and irrational spiritual blurt (in CAPS, no less), followed by a righteously indignant response. No wonder it’s so hard for some people to believe in a God who supposedly gets glory for a fire that kills on Christmas.

Read it as follows, first the remark and then the response (emphasis in bold supplied):

My condolences to this family. Sad, sad tragedy. Let’s all keep this families in our thoughts and prayers. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
