Praise God!That this issue is being addressed!I have experienced a similar situation at the hands of an elder in the church just last year and i was treated like i was a bad person for telling what he did to me. I was told that a christian doesn’t go around spreading things by his pastor, making the experience that i was dealing with even more traumatic. I thought i was alone in this situation, i believed that these issues would continue to be swept under the rug. God is good! I have made the choice to forgive but i will never stop talking about my situation nor will i forget the horrible experince that i went through. I am thankful that you guys are making this issue a big concern. May God bless you all and i pray that more victims will find the courage to come forward through the stories of other women.
Sherrie,
God bless you for your courage and testimony. On behalf of The Hope of Survivors, I am cheering you on.
I hope you can attend our Hope and Healing Conference on August 26 in Omaha–not only for your own continued healing but also for the sake of other survivors of sexual abuse in their churches.
Grace and peace to you, my sister in Christ,
Martin Weber
