Live life to the fullest that’s the motto our friend Ron Scott has. He is a natural born athlete and a real people person. The term, “he never met a stranger” certainly applies to him.
Ron is as friendly as the day is long, he loves people and people love him. He loves Jesus, he carries his Bible most every where he goes and reads it often. He laughs easily and finds humor in most anything. He is a good listener and loves to have a good visit.
Ron has a wide range of interests, he was a social worker, barber, school principal, youth director, education director and hospital chaplain. He is a family man and loves his wife, children and grandchildren who call him Ronpa.
My heart is heavy as I write this post because Ron is fighting for his independence. By this I mean, he is in the hospital with his family gathered around him. They are waiting for the next miracle to happen. Ron was in a skiing accident on Sunday and now has two rods and 11 screws in his back. As of right now he has no feeling in his legs.
Please pray with me that God will continue to work miracles in Ron’s life. The most amazing thing to me is as Ron was waiting for the ski ambulance to pick him up he was praying to God and letting Him know he was okay with this if it would make a difference in someone’s life. WOW where does one get this kind of unselfish attitude?
You captured Ron in your article. I was fortunate to work with Ron as one of his associates when he served as the Superintendent of Education for the Upper Columbia Conference. I look back on those years with fond memories. Ron was always so positive and was generous with kind words of affirmation. He was great at writing notes and I often found one on my desk. We were not just colleagues, we became friends and I, along with my family, spent some wonderful times with Ron, Paulette and Roni Sue camping, water skiing, walking, playing games, driving the cart so Ron and my husband Wayne, could golf, eating etc. I never saw him in any mood other than happy and positive. We have remained friends during the past 21 years and have had fun keeping in touch and watching his family grow. I know I’ll have the opportunity to once again see him laughing and having fun with family and friends.

We sure keep praying for the Scott family–it is a sad, sad thing. We God is able that’s for sure.
“In all things give thanks.” Ron is an amazing testament to this verse. He knows that if he is unable to walk again on this earth, he will walk again in heaven with the one person who is able to make him whole again. What a wonderful hope he has to cling to. “…give thanks.”
I can just imagine all the people he’s able to witness to there in that hospital. How many lives he’ll inspire; not to mention all the lives he’s inspired already! Now it’s our turn to inspire him and lift him up. Thanks for expressing what a lot of us have always thought about Ron.
