John Treolo, community services director for Kansas-Nebraska Conference, was appointed president-elect of the Emergency Management Support Association of Kansas (EMSAK) at their recent annual conference in Wichita, Kansas.

He is the first Seventh-day Adventist to serve in this position. EMSAK members consist of county emergency managers and support agencies, such as American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and Adventist Community Services.

According to Treolo, this is a three-year appointment. As president-elect, he will serve on the EMSAK board to help plan the 2015 conference; the next year as president he coordinates the 2016 conference; and then he will serve the following year as past-president.

An EMSAK member for 16 years, Treolo twice has received the EMSAK Support Agency of the Year Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award.
