Dozens of women attended the Adventist Women Leaders Luncheon in Greensboro, North Carolina, on January 11, 2023, during the final day of the 2023 North American Divison Adventist Ministries Convention. The luncheon was designed for women who serve as presidents, administrators, department directors, associate and assistant directors, and ministry leaders of Adventist organizations.

This year’s featured presenter was Leah JM Dean, executive coach, author and speaker. Dean, a Seventh-day Adventist from Bermuda, provided vital information and tools for the women to leverage their strengths to maximize their leadership. Each attendee completed a CliftonStrengths assessment before the luncheon and utilized their findings in an interactive exercise led by Dean.

AWL began in 2017 with a luncheon for 14 women leaders and, according to their website, “has blossomed into a global community of more than 300 women leaders who stay connected through the monthly newsletter, social media, Zoom events, and in-person events.” AWL joined forces with NAD Women’s Ministries in October 2022 to help AWL grow, reach and serve more women leaders with resources, events, and mentoring opportunities.
