“When, because of your faith, your life too becomes perceptibly different; when your reactions are quite opposite to what the situation seems to call for and your activities can no longer be explained in terms of your personality; that is when your neighborhood will sit up and take notice. In the eyes of the world, it’s not our relationship with Jesus Christ that counts; it is our resemblance to Him.” Don’t you love this quote from the book The Queen and I? It just makes sense.
Do you remember some months ago I wrote about our friend Ron? I told you about the skiing accident that has changed his life forever.
A few weeks ago we were in Denver and visited with Ron and his wife where they are learning a total new way of living. They have learned more then they every wanted to know about wheelchairs, feeding tubes, catherters and thearpy.
The last time I saw Ron standing on his own two feet was a year ago, when I hugged him good-bye telling him we would see him next year for alumni. Never dreaming that the next time I would see him he would be operating a wheelchair expertly down the halls at Craig Hospital.
Just a week ago Ron and family were able to attend a regular church service and Ron was one of the speakers. This is just a part of what he said, “The more we know our God, the more we love Him. Jesus is all the world to me, I love Him dearly and even in adversity, I cannot help it. Life changed in a second for me on March 27. He has brought me back to life twice. I know he has preserved me for a reason. Though my body function has diminished, my zeal for the Lord has increased. I don’t feel that I’m picked on, even though one day I expect to know a reason for this. Yet I always hope to work within His will. Regardless of my circumstances, the longer I serve Him, the sweeter He has grown. Though He slay me, yet will I serve Him.”
Now go back and read the beginning of this post, can you see Jesus in Ron?
Nancy, what an inspiration. All praise goes to our Father. Oh, to come to the place that no matter what the enemy throws at us, we can stay tight with God. I appreciate you keeping us posted on Ron’s progress and sharing his testimony.
