Creativity is not limited to artists, designers or people working in media. The desire to create is part of who we are—and it can become a powerful way to serve God.
That idea is at the heart of “Born Creators: Bridging Art, AI, and Ministry,” presented by Felipe Gutierrez at the 2025 Society of Adventist Communicators Convention. The presentation is now available through the Adventist Learning Community.
Gutierrez explores creativity within the Adventist community and reminds communicators that God is the original Creator. Throughout Scripture, people used the gifts God gave them to build, write, design, teach and communicate.
But being creative also brings challenges. Technology continues to change, artificial intelligence is reshaping creative work, and it can be easy to compare our work with what others are producing. Gutierrez encourages creatives to remain humble, collaborate with others and never stop learning.
His message is also a reminder to protect the curiosity that made us creative in the first place. New tools may change how we create, but they don’t have to change why we create.
Whether you design graphics, produce videos, take photographs, write stories or simply have an idea you want to explore, your creativity can be used for ministry.
